Christina & Jonathon: Wedding near Acadia National Park, Maine
We might say this is one of our most exciting blogs to date! We finally had a chance to put this blog together and we couldn't be more thrilled to share some of our favorites! Christina and Jonathon are long-time friends of ours - so it was only natural that when they reached out to us to tell us about their elopement and ask us to be their photographers, we jumped at the opportunity to capture their memories! When they told us it would be in Maine, we became even more excited about the photo opportunities we knew we'd have with them!
Christina and Jonathon had their beautiful, intimate ceremony in Christina's grandmother's backyard, facing the Union River Bay, minutes access of the Atlantic and all of the beautiful islands around Acadia National Park. When doing our research, we quickly realized how important it would be for us to make time to go into Acadia for some portraits! After getting ready, they had their (emotional) First Look and then we hopped in the car for our first of two trips into Acadia that day! Our first loop was for some daytime portraits along the cliffs and water. We stopped at Boulder Beach for some stunning views, and then took the bride and groom to Jordan Pond for the well-known view of what everyone calls the Bubbles - these two small perfectly rounded mountains along Jordan Pond. We were blessed with such a gorgeous day - perfect weather for a wedding!
After some portraits, we made our way back to grandmother's house for the ceremony. Christina's father built a deck specifically for his daughter to get married on and surprised her with it only days before the wedding. It was so perfect and provided an amazing setting for their ceremony. The reception followed - which really meant that some of their favorite people hung out and had the best of times! We planned their confetti exit just in time to get in the car and head back into Acadia National Park for some sunset shots on Cadillac Mountain! We couldn't have asked for a better, more beautiful coverage of clouds and light. Colors photograph so vibrantly under a nice set of clouds! People watched as we climbed around on the mountaintop and shot some stunning sunset photos. We snuck off for some final intimate moments of the bride and groom - and the last shot is from the following morning after we made one last final visit up the mountain for the sunrise before heading home.
We had such a fabulous time and wouldn't have traded this experience for anything! We love Christina and Jonathon so much and it was an honor to provide them with these memories.
